Summary: | A power failure occurred in the No. 1 engine on takeoff and the pilot cut power to both engines and discontinued takeoff. He then apparently changed his mind and applied power. The left engine continued to malfunction and the aircraft collided with power lines and crashed into houses. Use of improper fuel necessitated operating the aircraft's engines in excess of operating limits resulting in engine failure. Decision to takeoff after the failure of the left engine. |
