The front section of an Eastern Airlines Douglas C-54 that crashed into the Potomac River after a midair collision with a U.S. Air Force P-38.  U.S. Representatives George Bates from Massachusetts and Michael Kennedy from New York were killed in the crash along with all 53 others aboard.
