| I've heard all my life how safe aviation is compared to ground transport. It's still a lot more nerve-wracking to get on an airplane than to board a bus or hop in a car. I liked a comment I read in this guest book about why they have life jackets on airplanes--who ever uses them? I hate flying. |

i noted that in the review of the world's second largest crash, between two pan am and klm 747's , it was stated that the klm took off without clearance, therefore causing the accident. it should be mentioned that the pan am missed the designated turnoff, deeming it "at too sharp an angle" to turn, and that the klm was equipped with one-way radios, which caused misunderstood communications between the control tower and the klm plane. Reply: There were 10 or so occurrences that had to come together to cause this accident, one being the missed turnoff by KLM. However, the major one was the KLM taking off without clearance from the tower. |

| I found a photograph of an aircraft in water with 3 people sitting on the fuselage. It was probably taken in the late 1930's. It is a single engine Junkers craft. W336 on the tail. D-2072 on the body and ESA near the engine. It is signed by a Capt Ferh???? and a C. Weija???. What can you tell me about this photo? |

| That's weird how people freak out about aviation disasters. Isn't that weird? |
